It is essential that all cats and dogs are regularly wormed.
Worms are harmful to your pet and are very difficult to diagnose until he/she is very ill. Some species of worms are a hazard to human health, particularly children.
Puppies and kittens should be treated regularly, so please ask us for advice on a suitable worming programme for your animals and your particular circumstances.
We stock the most effective worming products at our surgery.
It is important to recognise that although there may not appear to be evidence of worms, they are likely to be present if your pet goes outside, or if the mother wasn't correctly wormed during pregnancy, or if the kittens/puppies have not been regularly wormed since birth.
Fleas
We sell a very wide range of flea treatments for animals and furnishings. Your pet has to be registered with us before you can purchase some of the products.
Dental Health
Periodontal (gum) disease is one of the most common conditions seen by veterinary surgeons.
Plaque and tartar harbour bacteria and can build up on teeth. These bacteria spread through the bloodstream to affect the kidneys, heart and liver.
We can check your pet's teeth and when necessary arrange for them to be de-scaled and polished. Remember that bad breath is not normal.
The associated infection will usually cause discomfort and affect your pet's health.
We are now offering free complimentary dental checks. Please make an appointment with a nurse.
